Plenty of fishing is available too, including bass fishing and fly fishing in the warmer months, as well as the Grand Slam Challenge, where guests can challenge themselves to catch landlocked salmon, brook trout, rainbow trout, and brown trout, all on one single fishing trip. Adrenaline junkies will love ATV riding, and the Maine Department of Conservation considers the Kennebec River Valley to have some of the best-maintained trails in the East. With incredible views and teeming with wildlife, this experience is a must. Plenty of hiking and biking trails are available around the valley area, and in the colder months, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing allow guests to explore the areas where sleds and trails can’t reach. The Forks Area Trail System is part of a 13,500-mile groomed snowmobile trail grid, and the property is located right in the heart of this, meaning guests can ride to dozens of locations, including across the border into Quebec! For those more relaxed days, or if guests feel like exploring a bit further afield, the city of Bangor is just a couple of hours away, and offers museums, parks, farmers’ markets, and a mall. There truly is something for everyone here.
