Set in the Green Mountain and Finger Lakes National Forests, near the banks of the Green River, this gorgeous vacation rental is in Sandgate, Vermont. In an idyllic, secluded spot, guests can look forward to a getaway far from the hustle and bustle of city life. The rental is near to various places of natural and historical interest. Just 30 minutes away is the beautiful family home of Robert Lincoln, Abraham Lincoln's eldest son, Hildene. Less than 45 minutes drive from the rental is Equinox Mountain. From the peak, there are exceptional views of the forest, Lake Madeline, and the Charterhouse Monastery of the Transfiguration. In less than 30 minutes, guests can be in the town of Manchester, which has both a country club and a golf course, as well as bars and restaurants. There is also a golf course at Stratton Mountain, just an hour from the rental, and in the winter, there is a ski area here as well. The nearest international airport is Bradley International Airport, which is about 135 miles away from the rental.

Guests can enjoy staying in this stunning area all year round and head out on some wonderful excursions. Being set in the Green Mountain and Finger Lakes National Forests, guests can enjoy some beautiful walks, hikes, and bike rides through the woodland. A trip to Equinox Mountain is a must. At the peak, guests are afforded some incredible views of the surrounding area, including of Lake Madeline. Lake Shaftsbury State Park, just 21 minutes to the south, is a wonderful place for a day out. Guests can enjoy walks around the lake and woodland, picnics, watersports such as kayaking, or on a sunny day, relaxing on the beach. For a historical day out, glampers can visit the stunning family home of Robert Lincoln, Hildene. The estate has beautiful gardens, a wooden Pullman palace car, as well as a working goat farm with a cheesemaking facility. There are also more than 12 miles of walking trails, a teaching greenhouse, and cross-country skiing in the winter. For more excitement during the winter months, guests can look forward to carving their way through the snow on both Stratton Mountain, and Bromley Mountain, both of which are just an hour away.
