Location + Surroundings

Keaau is located on the Big Island in the state of Hawaii, less than 10 miles south of the city of Hilo, where the local airport is. The Big Island's main attractions cannot be missed: Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, Hapuna Beach State Recreation Area, Rainbow Falls, and much, much more. While Hawaii thrives on tourism, it also has a diverse agriculture, the most famous of which is their Kona coffee. Macadamia nuts and papaya are also two of the island's primary crops, so don't forget to sip a cup of the Big Island's java while munching on some fresh produce in between all of that seeing, doing, and soaking up as much island sun as possible.

There's never a bad time of year to visit the island, weather-wise, as even in the winter, the average low temperature is in the low 70s. Further inland, the temperatures have a tendency to drop, but Hawaii is known for have balmy, tropical weather all year round.
