Just voted the best Bed & Breakfast in Hawai'i West. A treasure awaits guests — a magical getaway nestled romantically in the Kona coffee belt. Glampers should visit for adventure, romance, a personal retreat, connecting with nature and/or mermaid encounters. Guests can rest, restore and revive themselves in the clear blue waters of the Big Island. One of the hosts of this property is a real-life mermaid.

Guest should allow this beautiful land and five bedroom home embrace them in its Aloha and comfortable hospitality. It is a perfect getaway for those who want to experience Hawaii more intimately, without feeling like a “tourist.” People staying here will fall asleep to a symphony of crickets and chirping frogs and wake up to the sound of birds in the luscious fruit gardens. This quiet location offers small towns, delicious dining and quaint shops.

The property is located just 15 minutes south of Kailua town and 33 minutes south of the Kona airport.

At 1200 feet elevation, guests will enjoy the cool breezes in the evening, tropical sun during the day and just a few minutes drive to Kealakekua Bay (Marine Refuge). The Kaawaloa Trail to Kealakekua Bay is a ¼ mile away from the bed and breakfast and a 1.5-mile hike to the ocean. This trail is the only way to the protected reef unless you obtain a kayak permit or take an excursion like the Fairwinds catamaran.

Wild dolphins and snorkeling await guests in these South Kona bays. Nestled in the coffee belt, many sacred sites such as the City of Refuge and Peace Garden are waiting to be explored. Guests can enjoy diving into the clearest waters on the islands at night with the giant Mantas and by day along the coastline. The hosts are happy to help guests plan trip and share their beach gear, towels, boogie boards, etc. They also offer the renting of mermaid tails.

Wifi is available at no extra cost, but we encourage you to take a break from TV and electronics during your stay.
You’ll definitely want to rent a car in advance as they are in high demand.

The island offers limitless attractions for visitors of all interests. Sunbathe at white sandy beaches, ride mountain bikes to the lava flow at the Volcano, snorkel with sea turtles, tour the coffee farms, dive the clear blue ocean, swim with Manta Rays, tour the Seahorse Farm, rent jet skis, or guests can enjoy a visit to the local farmer’s markets and artisan shops.

The B&B is a destination in itself offering various spa services, a swimming pool, a yoga tent, massage, anointing with essential oils, fire pit on the sunset lanai, and lots of other magical surprises including bioluminescent aquariums and singing orchids. Located in the home of Kona Mermaid School, mermaids and mermen gather here from around the world. Read More
