There is a wide range of activities in the local area. The area is excellent for both snorkeling, as there is very easy access to the beach from the property. There are also several PADI-approved dive centers in the local area from which guests can go scuba diving. Visitors can also climb Mount Mauna Kea. From the 14,000-foot summit, there are amazing views over a varied expanse of lava, desert, the valley, and Mauna Loa. The Manini'owali Beach is a beautiful secluded beach with clear water and is, without doubt, the best place for snorkeling and viewing aquatic life in the local area. The Kaloko-Honokōhau National Historical Park has a lot of history, offering ancient fish ponds, many beaches, dog-walking, hiking, a visitor center, a petroglyph path, and the opportunity to see sea turtles.
