Eco hut: Hawaii
Located on the Puna Coast and within walking distance of the ocean and black sand beach, this hut is a beautiful hand-carved building surrounded by palm trees and tropical gardens. Hand-carved in East Timor, Indonesia, sixty years ago, this hut is free-standing, open-aired and screened with privacy mesh shades.
Inside, guests will have the basics including, linens, lamps, a dresser, and seating. This eco hut can sleep up to two guests with a queen-size bed. The bathroom and outdoor hot shower are separate from the house and are very private, surrounded by trees and plants, and there is a privacy fence on the border.
The eco-hut is screened in from the environment, comes with clean linens, blankets, towels and pure water. There are no kitchen facilities. Although a coffee maker is provided, guests are responsible for their drinking needs and a cooler with ice is provided upon request. Wi-Fi is also available upon request any time of the day. There is no cell phone reception on the property but it can be found down the road in different areas. A private outdoor hot shower is available and there is a private indoor bathroom just to the rear of the hut. The property has complete solar electricity.

Guests can find something to do right on site, as there are plenty of adventures to be found on this beautiful road. The Kalani ocean side retreat center is just five minutes from the property, offering three meals a day, yoga classes, dance, and miscellaneous classes. Uncle Robert's is a popular Wednesday night attraction for arts, craft, great food, hula, and music, just 10 minutes away. There is lava flowing just down the road which can be seen by hiking about two miles each way and also can be viewed by boat or helicopter for a truly unique experience. The Volcano National Park is one hour away for great hiking, bird watching, and lava can be viewed from the crater at the Jaguar museum.
