Set atop a peaceful ridge with sweeping sunrise views over Fallbrook’s rolling farmland, Crown View offers a private, off-grid glamping escape in a beautifully styled geodome designed for rest and reconnection with nature.

Nestled on 101 acres, the farm offers trails with panoramic vistas of the Pacific Ocean and Big Bear, plus the onsite Splitrock 5K loop. Just three miles from the property, the Santa Margarita River Trail Preserve — voted the #1 trail in San Diego County — winds through untouched riparian forest, home to golden beavers and the southernmost steelhead trout habitat in the U.S.

Inside the Crown View dome, you’ll find:

Portable Airconditioning Unit - Beat the heat
Queen-Sized Bed – Dressed in soft linens for a restful night
Seating Area with a View – Two comfy chairs ideal for reading or relaxing
Dining Table for Two – Perfect for simple meals or evening card games
Kitchenette – Includes cups, dishes, basic cooking utensils, and a French press
Wood Stove – Keeps the dome warm and cozy on chilly nights
Side Table with Drawers – Convenient storage for your stay
Solar-Powered Lighting – Gentle illumination once the sun goes down
Power Station - Charge your small devices

Please note the property operates fully off-grid using solar power and battery storage. Power is limited and should be used mindfully throughout your stay. High-draw appliances such as hair dryers, heaters, and AC units will significantly reduce battery life and may not be sustainable, especially in the evenings once solar charging stops. A solar-powered system provides ambient light; we recommend bringing portable chargers for any electronics. Guests may also charge their electronics in the communal area.

Outside:

Outdoor Kitchen Station
Dishwashing Station
Picnic Table
Fire Pit with Seating for Two

All guests are welcome to enjoy the Oak Grove Communal Area, with fire pits, lawn games, and a shared kitchen. On weekends, the Camp Shop, located in the Oak Grove’s shipping container, offers snacks, firewood, and other basics.

Splitrock is just a short drive from regional highlights like the Santa Margarita River Trail, Santa Rosa Plateau, and the award-winning wineries of Temecula.
Ben started life in small town Texas, spending most free time building forts in the desert before his family moved to Costa Mesa, CA in 1987. Ben instantly fell in love with the ocean and all the best natural features of Southern California, always at the beach, building BMX jumps in the bluffs, or camping (esp. Joshua Tree). Ben's connection with nature and outdoor recreation was rooted early.
Despite remarkable career shifts from athletics (playing and coaching) to business (MBA and consulting) to academia (PhD and professor), Ben’s connection with nature drove him to create his own recreation and wellness retreat. Vetted through traveling to 72 countries and residing on 3 continents, overlanding 2,000+ mile treks across 5 continents, Ben experienced, lived, played, fed, and meditated with amazing people in the most amazing landscapes on earth. A global search ended with finding the perfect outdoor recreation and wellness paradise a mere 20 miles as the bird flies from his childhood home.
Ben’s experiences and connections taught him to value lifelong learning, exploration, fitness of the mind, body, and spirit, outdoor recreation, and triple bottom line (people-planet-profit) sustainability. These values bleed into the Farm and Retreat through Ben’s vision and hard work, where you’ll mostly find him building forts in paradise.

Far away, close to home.
