Guests can spend time exploring Yosemite National Park, which is 22 miles from the Wester Gate. Currently a reserved Day Pass must be purchased on-line. No purchase is available at the gate. Yosemite offers a spectacular range of wildlife, expanses of forest, and excellent opportunities for hiking, rafting, horse trekking, and freshwater swimming.
The nearby Gold Rush Town of Columbia is a State Park and has many events throughout the year. Located in the heart of the California Mother Lode, Columbia State Historic Park is a living gold rush town featuring the largest single collection of existing gold rush-era structures in the state. Pan for gold, explore exhibits, ride the stagecoach, discover unique shops, and learn about the rich history of the California gold rush on a guided town tour.
For those who enjoy a glass of wine, there are fantastic wine tasting opportunities in Jamestown.
