The city was once called "Almond City" for having the largest clustering of almond orchards in the world. While Paso Robles no longer holds this title, its almonds are still renowned for their high quality. Wine is the real industry here; however, with the first wine grapes put into Paso Robles' soil in the late 1700s. The vineyards are still going strong in this city, with over 25 different varietals of grapes are still grown here today and over 250 wineries.

Oenophiles should try to plan a trip around March for the city's Zinfandel Festival or October for the Harvest Wine Weekend. The rolling hills of Paso Robles provide great hiking and biking areas for glampers aching to get their legs moving while discovering Central California.
Only a few minutes from the city center, glampers can go for a shopping trip, a spa treatment, or a dinner out, once guests have had enough time exploring the great outdoors.
