Located in the mountains above Ashland, Oregon, this cozy and private Owl Creek Cabin is a perfect getaway for couples and solos looking for an inspiring retreat to write or to work remotely. This beautiful little cabin offers warm solitude, comfort, fresh air, and plenty of wildlife in a natural setting, where you’re likely to see bald eagles and hear a great northern owl hoot at night.
The cabin property is adjacent to public land managed by the BLM, and near recreational areas with miles of hiking trails including the Pacific Crest Trail. Kayak or canoe on nearby lakes, or visit Crater Lake just an hour away. Enjoy a soak under the trees in clawfoot tub, and the cozy environment of the cabin in the cool spring and summer evenings.
Regarding protection from Covid-19:
The cabin is surrounded by forest and plenty of distance from the few neighboring homes or cabins. To provide our guests with a safe, clean, sanitized space, we follow these safety practices:
• All surfaces, appliances, rails, switches, and doorknobs are sanitized with a non-toxic disinfectant spray
• Of course, all bed, kitchen and bath linens are clean and hot-dried
• All dishware and utensils are dishwasher-cleaned between guests
• The cabin is thoroughly aired between guests
You’ll still be greeted when you arrive, but rather than personally walk you through the cabin, you’ll find a key and a clean, laminated guide to cabin features and “how-to's” on the desk. If you have any questions, you can reach us by phone or email and we’ll get back to you promptly.

The location is perfect for those looking to get back in touch with nature or inspire creativity by connecting with the serene surroundings. The forestland around the cabin has miles of hiking trails, and there are numerous mountain lakes that glampers can visit. Within an hour's drive, the magnificent Crater Lake National Park offers hiking trails with breathtaking views around the rim of the extinct volcano, and excursions on the pristine lake to Wizard Island. Crater Lake is one of the most popular destinations among all US National Parks.
Additionally, the Pacific Crest Trail is popular among nature enthusiasts and horseback riders and is a great way to admire the scenic beauty of the Cascade Mountains. Avid anglers are encouraged to bring along their gear and head to Howard Prairie Lake, where they are sure to reel in rainbow trout and largemouth bass. And birdwatchers seek this area to see Sandhill Cranes, Bald Eagles, raptors of all kinds and the many avian species that abound in the area.
For a slower pace, head to downtown Ashland and sample some of the restaurants, or enjoy the world-renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival from February to November.
