Activities

  • Wildlife watching

For animal lovers, the nearby wildlife refuge has a visitor center and exhibits, an observation deck and close to five miles of public trails. Bringing a bicycle is recommended for getting around on the country roads, though there is always the option of renting bicycles in Portland and bringing them to the glamping site. Guests can head over to Ponzi Vineyard and Winery to do one of two (or both!) different tasting and tour options. If glampers prefer to stay one with nature, there are a variety of outdoor activities available, such as canoeing, hunting, fishing, hiking, and more.

Glampers who visit Sherwood must check out Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge, a now protected area, making up just under 2,000 acres of wetlands and lowlands in southeastern Washington County. Head here and enjoy the plains along Tualatin River, Rock Creek, and Chicken Creek. In the early spring and late fall, enjoy miles of back trails for biking, hiking, and walking, as well as views of astounding wildlife including, bald eagles, mallards, herons and other protected species.
