Redmond is a gorgeous city located in King County, Washington, just under half an hour’s drive from downtown Seattle. Despite being a city, there are many stunning natural areas to explore in and around town. Lake Sammamish is just slightly to the south, with Marymoor Park at its edge. Sammamish River Trail is a lovely spot for both hiking and biking. Other natural points of interest include Lake Washington, Tiger Mountain State Forest, Wenatchee National Forest, and Idylwood Beach Park. There are a couple of golf courses in the area for those who were hoping to spend some time out on the green during their vacation, as well as a handful of breweries and wineries for those who’d rather skip the golf.
