Parthenon is a small place almost entirely defined by sloping, green, tree-lined mountains, which has made it a popular spot for campers to come and explore since its discovery. Though it is noticeable for its classical name, there is much more to it than that. In fact, thanks to its amazing location, there is also a number of outdoor activities that campers can enjoy when they visit. Follow the Buffalo National River, which is known for its iconic, blue riverbed that seems to glow in the sunlight, where you can enjoy canoeing, boating, and fishing among other activities. You can even go on hikes through the surrounding trees as you follow the water. Just south of Parthenon is Ozark National Forest, where challenging trails and mountain views await.
