Washington Parrish | Bogue Chitto River

This campsite is located in the upland RV area in the middle west of the park and is perfect to easily access all things the park offers. Right next to the bath houses, this site is ideal for those who want to enjoy the beauty of camping while staying close to the amenities.

The state park is located off Louisiana State Highway 25 south of Franklinton, in Washington Parish.

Bogue Chitto State Park has a visitors center, a conference room, picnic pavilions, and a lodge overlooking a 90-foot (27 m) bluff. There is a canoe and tubing launch into the Bogue Chitto River, fishing piers, an amphitheater, and a water playground. The site contains eleven lakes stocked with freshwater fish. There are more than 7 miles (11 km) of nature trails and 14 miles (23 km) of equestrian trails. Bogue Chitto is also home to a beautiful, moderately difficult 9 hole disc golf course, winding through hilly wooded terrain. In addition, a new mountain bike trail is opening April 10 and will feature climbs, descents, switchbacks, and a Big Zephyr.

The site is approximately 1 mile from the entrance, driven all on paved road from the main entrance. This site cannot accommodate an RV due to its location and the size of the parking. On the deck of your tent, there are no sites visible, allowing for seclusion and relaxation. At the campsite, you can enjoy partial shade, with little service coverage allowing you to unplug, but also keep in contact if needed.

The Space:
Beautiful State Park with river, ponds, trails, and more

Interaction with Guests:
Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While this host does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in, and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location on the property.
If there is evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the CampKeeper’s property, you may be charged a cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!

Other Things to Note:
Be sure to bring your own food, firewood, and bedding. There are no electricity or water hookups available at your site. Anything you pack in, you must pack out. This is "leave no trace" camping. All trash MUST be deposited in a designated receptacle at the end of your stay. If you do not follow this rule, you will be charged a cleaning fee. Have a wonderful stay!
