About this place
Ready-to-go campsite with 2 platform tents near Gulf of Mexico beach and waterpark
Located within an hour of Gulfport, Biloxi and New Orleans, Buccaneer State Park sits on the Gulf of Mexico and features a beach and seasonal waterpark. Enjoy the beautiful moss-draped Oaks and Sweet Bay Magnolias as you wander the 1.8 mile Pirates Alley Nature Trail during your stay. Disc golf enthusiasts can play the par-3, 18-hole course which features amateur and pro tee boxes.
Families can visit the park's playground and Buccaneer Bay Waterpark which is open daily 10-6 from Memorial Day to Labor Day. It features a wave pool with 8 unique wave patterns, a 700-ft waterslide and Lil Smugglers Cove, a zero-depth pool for small children. Campers of all ages can play ping pong, foosball, and shoot pool at the activities center (also open seasonally).
Tentrrs drive-in campsites at Buccaneer are located approximately 1 mile from the park entrance and are easy to access for families with young children or campers with limited mobility. You will be parking your car on land nearby your tent.
Woodland A, as the name implies, is a wooded campsite with partial shade. This is a double campsite which is great for families, two couples or a group of friends as it can accommodate up to 12 campers. There are two safari platform tents, each with a queen bed and 2 pop-up tents which can accommodate up to 8 additional campers. Picnic tables, 2 firepits and four Adirondack chairs are also included. Campers will have access to modern bathhouses for showers and restroom facilities.
Please note that a CSX rail line runs parallel to South Street and trains may be heard from this tent depending on the train schedule.
Site guidelines
- Pack your own food, water, firewood, bedding, bug spray and flashlights
- There is no electricity, AC, or heater at your Tentrr site, pack accordingly
- Anything you pack in, you must pack out. This is "leave no trace" camping and all sites will be inspected for cleanliness and damages before the next camper
- All trash MUST be deposited in the designated trash receptacle that is labeled on the map. Please notes : If you do not follow this rule, you will be charged a cleaning fee of at least $50
- Pets are allowed. Please keep all pets on leashes(we recommend 6 ft), and DO NOT let your pets near or swim in any bodies of water.
- Please remember to respect and keep your distance from our wildlife in the park. Feeding any wildlife is prohibited. Be aware and watch all surrounding areas when going off trail.
Interaction with Guests:
Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While the host does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location on the property.
If a Camp Guide submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the CampKeeper’s property, the host reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!
Other Things to Note:
Check-in is at 3 pm. Beds in the canvas tents have memory foam mattresses but be sure to bring your own bedding, food, and firewood. Pop-up tent comes packed. No running water at this site - but 5-gallon water jug is provided. Anything you pack in, you must pack out. Trash must be thrown away in the designated dumpster at the end of your stay. All sites are inspected for damages and cleanliness after each use and before the next renter. Failure to follow these guidelines can result in a minimum cleaning fee of $50.
