With the Black Fork River running right by the cabin and Ouachita National Forest surrounding its property, guests will be in an ideal setting to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities. The river provides excellent conditions for fishing, kayaking, canoeing and stand-up paddleboarding, while the forest is laced with an extensive network of trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. These trails include the 223-mile Ouachita National Recreation Trail, which is mostly geared toward hiking but also has sections that permit mountain biking.
While exploring the forest, guests will enjoy many opportunities for birdwatching and wildlife viewing, with species such as deer, squirrels, chipmunks, black bears, wild turkeys, and bald eagles to be spotted.
