Palmetto

The lovely Palmetto is a city in Manatee County, Florida. It is home to excellent white "sugar" sand beaches, pristine water, sky-high palm trees, and a near-perfect year-round climate. Enjoy the picturesque Palmetto Historic District, and discover things you never knew about Florida's past in the South Florida Museum. Take a picnic in the Gamble Plantation Historic State Park, or relax in one of the many excellent cafes and eateries in town. The Emerson Point Preserve is ideal for hiking, with numerous well-marked trails for every level of experience and fitness. The Felts Audubon Preserve is an excellent site for seeing the fantastic birds from the region, even in the cooler months - although Florida never gets too cold!
