Hiking, cycling, and tubing/kayaking are definitely the most popular outdoor activities that attract guests to this area. Thousands of people visit the Appalachian Trail to thru-hike or section hike. This property is a great starting point for hiking the trail. The hosts offer shuttles to and from multiple gaps between Amicalola falls and Hogpen Gap, for an additional charge.
The Amicalola Falls State Park, which is only about 40 minutes away, is a popular place to pick up the Appalachian Trail and start. The park is very scenic, with beautiful landscapes and a stunning waterfall. Cyclists visit the area for the famed Six Gap Century—a challenging route up and down six of north Georgia's steepest mountains.
