Cozy Domes Overlooking the Watauga River for a Romantic North Carolina Getaway

Dome in Banner Elk, NC

4 guests • 1 bedroom • 3 beds • 1 bathroom

Located in between Grandfather Vineyard and Foscoe Community Center park, these desirable glamping domes are a must! Endless activities walking distance and trout fishing right in front of your domes on the Watauga River. Guests are sure to have a one-of-a-kind, unplugged experience that they will crave year after year.

We do not provide Wifi as we hope you will spend your time exploring nature and unplugging from your technology…however, you will be able to get cell service where we are located if needed.
We do not have a designated kitchen but we provide each dome with a 120qt cooler for food, ice, and drinks. We also provide a cast iron pan to cook over the wood-burning fire stove and each stove has a water-holding tank for heated water to use for coffee or tea. Our guests will each have 1 roll of paper towels, plastic utensils, paper plates, trash bag,s and disposable cups for each stay.

Each dome has a king-size bed. Bear Dome also has a set of twin bunk beds and a rollaway bed. Otter and Fox have 1 single rollaway bed each. Each bed comes with clean white sheets, a comforter/blanket, and premium pillows. Each dome has a table and chairs for seating/eating. Please bear with us as we do not have permits and access to provide plumbing or running water. In the meantime, we provide a porta-john for our guests.

Each dome is located on a raised deck with outdoor furniture for relaxing by the fire-pit chiminea or just getting some fresh air overlooking the Watauga River.

We have wood-burning stoves inside each dome that provide heat. During the winter months, we provide a bundle of wood beside the stove, so we suggest that our guests bring extra just in case they need more. Each dome also comes with an outside chiminea fire-pit on the deck. If you run out of firewood and don’t want to drive to the store then the Grandfather Campground Outpost (walking distance - 1 football field away) has bundles of firewood to purchase.
