Families can drive down to Ocean Isle Beach for mini-golfing, shopping, and arcades. Adrenaline junkies can head up to the Shallotte River for kayaking, canoeing, and rafting. They can visit the Shallotte River Swamp Park for zip-lining and ropes courses. Guests at the park can also view unique coastal wildlife like alligators on a boat tour of the river.
Holden Beach is only an hour away from Myrtle Beach, down in South Carolina. Guests can walk along the famous boardwalk for more mini-golf, shops, and restaurants. Families can spend the day swimming and surfing along the Grand Strand, or having fun in one of Myrtle Beach's many popular amusement parks. Couples can attend a live concert, or go golfing and wine tasting together in the town's center.
Holden Beach is also less than an hour away from Wilmington. Wilmington is a beautiful and historic city with museums, art galleries, botanical gardens, and an aquarium for the kids. It also has plenty more shops, restaurants, and golf courses.
