Unique Accommodation with Sauna for a Glamping Experience near Nantahala River, North Carolina
This unique accommodation, with a play area, is located in Murphy, North Carolina, near the Nantahala River, and can accommodate four guests. The rental is actually a chapel that the host has originally built for prayer and meditation and later turned into an authentic glamping location. Everything has been carefully and tastefully chosen, from the chapel’s timber frame construction to art details, such as the paintings that beautify the interior.
In order to get a genuine glamping experience, guests will not find any Wi-Fi, air conditioning, or cable television here. There is no running water, but plenty of water for drinking and showering is provided. There is limited electricity, and the lighting comes from four rechargeable lanterns.
Inside, guests will find four beds with very comfortable mattresses and a seating area with a sofa and two chairs by the window. The fully-equipped kitchen comes with a microwave, a toaster oven, a coffeemaker, and a micro-fridge. Other amenities include screened windows, a washstand, a fan, linens, towels, basic toiletries, coffee filters, and dinnerware.
Outside, guests will find a privy, a clothesline, and an outdoor shower. There is a spacious garden with a pond and a play area. Here, guests can play badminton or Bocce balls with the equipment they will find at the property.
The host’s own home is a few minutes away and he is always ready to hang out on the front porch. Guests can also play with the host's dog and cats, visit the chickens and ducks, or just roam around the 48 acres of untouched land.
This property has been created with glamping in mind, so while offering guests the comfort they need, it does lack television and Wi-Fi, so guests can spend as much time as possible outside, enjoying the surroundings.
There is no running water, but guests will have plenty of water for drinking and showering. There is no air conditioning either, but there are fans to keep guests cool and screened windows to keep bugs and mosquitos outside. There are four rechargeable lanterns that provide lighting throughout the property.
Outside, guests will find free parking, a play area, and a big garden with direct access to a nearby pond. The host also provides badminton equipment and Bocce balls for guests looking to give the play area a try.
The hosts also offer an experiential upgrade to guests' stay should they want to bask in a traditional Finnish wood-fired sauna, complete with plunges into a cool pond between rounds. Guests should inquire with the hosts for more information.
