This stunning glamping site features working honeybees, which guests can learn about if they are interested in beekeeping. Honey is for sale when in season, and guests are asked not to pass in front of the beehives. Offering about 160,000 acres of pine forests and bordered on three sides by the Neuse River, the Bogue Sound, and the White Oak River, the Croatan National Forest offers plenty for guests to do. Here, glampers can enjoy hiking trails, where they can spot a red-cockaded woodpecker, owls, quail, bald eagles, wild turkeys, and even alligators. Canoeing, fishing, and kayaking are some additional activities.

Additional info
We are a tobacco-free campus. No smoking, vaping, recreational drug use, etc, anywhere on the property. The house is not handicap accessible: all the bedrooms and bathroom are on the second level.
This host aims to treat each visitor as a unique guest and will respect the guests' individual privacy. They will greet guests upon arrival and assist as needed. Please ask the hosts for any local recommendations.
The Neuse River does not have a sandy bottom. The host advises that guests wear water shoes to protect their feet from items boats discard in the river. Occasionally, a fish kill occurs, and it is not recommended to use the beach or enter the water during this time.
There are honeybees at work on the property. Please do not travel through our apiary (to the left of our personal house). Honeybees are more interested in plants and trees than in people. If guests would like to learn more about honeybees and beekeeping, please ask the host for additional information. We sell honey and fresh eggs (when available). Guests purchasing honey and/or eggs before arrival will have their requested items in The Barn upon check-in.
