No matter the season, glampers staying at this cabin will find themselves surrounded by outdoor fun. Spring and summer bring lots of festivals, fairs, craft shows, antiques, white water rafting, tubing on the rivers, zip-lining, gem mining, amusement parks like Tweetsie Railroad Amusement Park and the Land of Oz Amusement Park, horseback riding, four wheeling, fishing, caverns, caves to explore, Price Julian Lake, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Watauga Lake, Wildcat Lake, breweries and wineries, hiking, bicycling, and lots more.
In the fall and winter, there are more festivals like Wooly Worm Festival to predict the winter, fall leaves to look at, apple butter to be made, honey to be collected, and more. When there is snow on the ground, guests should head to the Sugar Mountain Ski Slopes, which are 10 miles away in Banner Elk, North Carolina. Visitors can spend the day skiing or snowboarding, tubing, ice skating, and cross-country skiing. Beech Mountain Ski Slopes lie just a little further afield, about 20 minutes from the site. Jonas Ridge Snow Tubing is another popular place only a few miles from the rental, where families can enjoy tubing together. When it snows guests will need an AWD vehicle or a 4x4 vehicle to transverse the roads safely. Although the main roads get scraped and salted pretty well for tourists, the side roads and off roads can get treacherous in standard two-wheel drive vehicles.
The hollow in which this property lies has miles of trails, streams, creeks, and waterfalls to explore. Beyond the 90 acres of the property, Grandfather Mountain, North Carolina, and Roan Mountain State Park in Tennessee are 10 minutes from the cabin where guests can spend the day outside hiking, mountain biking, and more.
Come summer, a great way to spend time outside is on the water. There are several rivers in the surrounding mountains and guests can find rentals or guided tours in Boone, Banner Elk, Foscoe, and Newland. These are just some suggestions for how guests can spend their time, but there is so much more - the Cherokee National Forest, Pisgah National Forest, hunting, swimming, rock climbing, paragliding, and the list goes on.
