Life at its best in an 1860’s hand-hewn log cabin furnished with real 1800’s antiques. Also, many pieces of furniture have been built or refurbished by the owner/host. The cabin was Redesigned and Rebuilt by the owner/host after moving the logs from its original site in Campbellsville KY.

Build a wood fire in the large stone fireplace in the living area. Even a fireplace in the master suite and one in the huge upstairs bedroom, both of which have gas logs turned on easily by the flip of a switch on the front of the log sets.

Enter at the large front porch with frequent views of deer and other wildlife all around and into the beautiful forests where you can sit and relax on a rocking chair or a glider sofa. Hunting is not allowed. Two ceiling fans will help cool you down in the summer months. A side porch off the master suite through the 130+ year old double French doors and with winter time views of the local White Oak Mountains where you can sit and rock or have a warm cup of coffee in the cool fall and winter and spring mountain air or play a game of checkers on the breakfast table. A ceiling fan will cool you down in the summer time.

Three beautifully designed bathrooms are available with running water, including 2 unique tile showers and 1 freestanding bathtub.

The kitchen is well equipped, also with running water, and feels right at home with the 1800’s cabin and furnishings.

Outside are a hot tub for up to 5 people, a combination optional gas/charcoal grill and outdoor dining table and 4 chairs. A firepit surrounded by 4 comfortable chairs is located conveniently near the front entrance.

The property is located in a quiet rural gated community of other private property owners, with miles of paved roads for hiking along with some flat and some steep.

Cabin is 12 minutes from the Tryon International Equestrian Center. There are a dozen wineries and vineyards within 20 miles of the cabin. The world famous Biltmore House, the largest vacation home in the US built by the George Vanderbilt in 1895, is an hour away. Several nature centers and walking/bicycling trails are located nearby.

Two airports are an hour’s drive to the lodge. There are all paved roads for driving all the way up to the lodge which has a level gravel driveway.

Many Restaurants options for your dining pleasure are in abundance within 15-30 minutes of the cabin.

Whether you are attending TIEC yourself or with family member’s equestrian event at the TIEC or touring the local colorful fall leaf changes or taking a bicycle ride through the North Carolina foothills, this cabin will become your favorite destination.

No pets are allowed on the property.

Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere on the property, both indoors and outdoors.

Follow speed limit signs while inside the cabin neighborhood.

The cabin community was once part of the Green River Plantation. One house inside the community was actually built in the late 1700’s. Deer and other wildlife, including occasional bear, roam freely through the neighborhood. A local bald eagle resident may soar overhead.

Nearby towns of Forest City, Rutherfordton, Columbus North Carolina are easily accessible in 15 minutes. Landrum, Inman and Boiling Springs SC are within 30 minutes of the cabin.

Hiking along the community roads is available. There is a community park along the entrance gate where the Green River is visible but not accessible at this area. It can be accessed in other areas off-site.
