Winter in the Manzano Mountains is peaceful, crisp, and beautifully real. Nights get cold, so bring warm layers and enjoy a true mountain glamping experience under star-filled skies. Your cozy tent keeps you close to nature, quiet mornings, frosty air, and the calm of a world slowed by winter’s touch.

Tucked away in the heart of New Mexico’s Manzano Mountains, the Mountain Retreat offers a rare blend of rustic adventure and thoughtful comfort. Spread across 140 acres of heritage apple orchards, rolling meadows, shady pines, and wide-open skies, our retreat is designed to help you slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with what matters most.

Your private tent combines the charm of camping with the ease of a cozy hideaway. Outfitted with comfortable beds, fresh linens, heating and AC, and electrical outlets, it’s a space where you can drift off under the stars without giving up modern comforts. Step outside in the morning to crisp mountain air, the sound of birdsong, and the scent of Ponderosa pines, a refreshing change of pace from the busy world.

Enjoy a cozy stay in this spacious unit featuring a comfortable king bed and modern amenities designed for comfort and convenience. Perfect for couples or solo travelers looking for a peaceful mountain escape.

What’s Included:
- Plush king bed with fresh linens, duvet, and pillows
- Air conditioning & heating for year-round comfort
- Mini-fridge & coffee machine for drinks and morning brews
- Power outlets & lighting throughout the space
- Outdoor seating area to relax and take in the views
- Fresh towels provided for your stay
- Shared Bathhouse with hot and cold showers

Life on the retreat moves with the rhythm of the land. Families love introducing their kids to our cheerful farm animals, from miniature donkeys and Highland cows to peacocks and ponies, while couples find quiet corners in the orchards or along forest trails. Adventurers set out on nearby hikes in the Cibola National Forest or explore the historic Quarai Ruins, while others prefer slow afternoons by the pool or curling up with a book by the firepit.

Food is part of the experience, too. On weekends, guests gather in our dining hall for a warm breakfast buffet, while weekday mornings bring fresh, made-to-order meals. For snacks, drinks, and grab-and-go items, our Mercantile is open daily. Every fall, our apple orchards come alive with harvest traditions, cider pressing, and donuts that keep guests coming back year after year.

What makes the Mountain Retreat special isn’t just the setting, it’s the atmosphere. Guests tell us they arrive feeling weighed down by daily routines and leave feeling lighter, more connected, and full of memories. Children discover the freedom to explore, couples reconnect under star-filled skies, and groups trade screens for shared stories around the fire.

Whether you’re here for a romantic weekend, a family adventure, or a personal retreat, you’ll find that the pace is unhurried, the welcome is genuine, and the mountains seem to wrap you in their calm. Come experience the beauty, laughter, and hospitality that make the Mountain Retreat unforgettable.

We’re the Dudley, Gemmer & Crabtree family — dreamers, doers, and animal lovers who call the Manzano Mountains home. In 2022, we opened the Mountain Retreat to share the beauty of our orchards, meadows, and animals with guests. Hosting weddings, retreats, and our annual Apple Harvest Festival has been a joy, and now we’re excited to welcome travelers into our glamping tents. Whether you’re here for peace, adventure, or connection, we’re honored to host you with warmth and New Mexico hospitality
