Guárico

A state in central Venezuela, Guárico is a small fishing village in the Ilanos region. Farmers and ranchers mostly occupy the region, which means there are plenty of natural areas to explore. Among the sights to see in Guárico includes the Moros rock formations of San Juan, the Orinoco River, the second biggest river in South America, and the old town of Calabozo, where you’ll find colonial style architecture. It’s quite easy to set up horseback riding and fishing adventures in the region, and if you’re looking to truly immerse yourself in the wilderness, visit Guatopo National Park. The natural reserve is a protected area with a variety of landscapes. From jungles to cloud forests and clandestine gorges, Guatopo offers some of the prettiest scenes you’ll see in the region.
