Yaracuy

Rarely a destination you’ll find in travel pamphlets about Venezuela, Yaracuy is a state in northernmost part of the country. A tropical region, the state enjoys a warm climate year-round, of course, with much rainfall as well. As such, you’ll find a vast rainforest to explore in the region, along with a plethora of flora. You can learn much about the region’s flora by visiting the National Herbarium of Venezuela, a botanical garden that celebrates contributions from the Swiss naturalist Henri Pittier. Of the much wildlife you can encounter in the region, you’ll see many bat species, butterflies, and a number of other bug species, including beetles. So if you’re looking to visit the region of Yaracuy, you should definitely look to explore its vast rainforest system.
