Amazing Pet-Friendly Tiny House on a Farm near Port Fairy, Victoria - Perfect for a Glamping Vacation for Two
Tiny house in Rosebrook, Victoria
2 guests • 1 bed
This charming tiny house is complete with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities, including an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers) for you to use. Guests staying with us will have access to the tiny house and its surroundings, except for the sheds, which require the host's permission in advance. Also, feel free to bring your kayak; great for exploring Port Fairy.
Lough is easily accessed via a grass laneway unless animals are being moved. If access is unavailable for any period, a sign will be posted on the gate. And, if you plan to spend some time here, we advise that you bring necessities, such as food and water for your stay with us. Also, please note that there may be agricultural noise as we are a working farm that tends to farm animals. For a well-rested stay, we recommend that guests bring earplugs with them.
The tiny house sits in the rural locality of Rosebrook, southwest Victoria, about 282 kilometers west of Melbourne's state capital. You can discover local food options at Port Fairy and Koroit IGA stores, weekend farmers' markets, and Volcano Produce stalls on Princes Highway in Tower Hill. Yambuk Big Slide, Koroit, Flagstaff Hill Lookout, Budj Bim Cultural Centre, and Warrnambool are just a few nearby attractions you can visit.
Our local recommendations include the Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve, a volcanic crater that houses a variety of Australian wildlife such as emus, kangaroos, and koalas. Southern Right Whales can be seen along the winter coastline along with a variety of wildlife, birds, and beautiful walks in the area. Charlies on East near Port Fairy offers great brunch options and attractions like Basalt Winery and Noodledoof Brewery and Restaurant.
Killarney Beach is a protected area with calm waters, perfect for fishing, camping, picnicking, snorkeling, and other watersports. Port Fairy is a charming holiday spot with beaches, cafes, markets, and festivals like the Folk Festival and Winter Weekend Dachsund Dash! Port Fairy IGA and Koroit IGA both stock an excellent range of local produce, weekend farmer's markets, and Volcano Produce stalls.
Note: Public transport is not available in our area, however, you can travel by car or bicycle to nearby towns. The nearest train station is Warrnambool (20 km). Taxis are available in Warrnambool and Port Fairy. There is full mobile reception except for 2degrees and Spark which have no signal on the property. Firewood costs $20 per wheelbarrow load (currently unavailable due to fire ban season).
Pets are allowed with prior notice. Breakfast is available at an extra cost. A farm animal experience is available with prior arrangements; we have cattle, horses, donkeys, and a variety of feathered and furry animals. Given the farm setting, children are welcome under close adult supervision. Please do not enter animal paddocks or yards without the land host's permission. We also ask guests not to feed farm animals as they are on specific diets for their health.
Our water supply is rainwater, so please limit showers, particularly in the dry season. Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property. Also, please keep in mind that charcoal BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
To maintain the cleanliness and functionality of our cassette toilets a minimum additional cleaning fee is applied for stays of 5 nights or more. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a hygienic experience during your stay.
