A nature lover’s dream destination, Kangaroo Island is home 19 national and conservation parks and five protected wilderness areas. Flinders Chase National Park tucked away at the western end of the island, is known for its untamed wilderness and home to the iconic Admirals Arch and sculpted Remarkable Rocks. The walk from Cape du Couedic Lighthouse to Weirs Cove is lovely and offers insight into how the lighthouse keeper lived years ago. The Park’s coastal scenery and the diverse wildlife are unparalleled and can be admired from the network of trails that carve throughout the Park.
Seal Bay Conservation Park is an essential part of any visit to Kangaroo Island and offers fantastic views and insight into the Australian sea lion colony that calls the bay home. Furthermore, premier fishing charters are available from Emu Bay and there are ocean safari tours that glampers can book. For the adventurers, the roads less traveled are home to incredible sightings of koalas, wallabies, goannas, and more, so glampers should definitely be camera-ready when traversing one of the 23 hikes on the Island.
From quad biking and adventure caving to snorkeling and diving, Kangaroo Island has something for every glamper to enjoy. The Island produces some of Australia’s finest cuisine for glampers to sample and offers a rich cultural history, a thriving art scene, and plenty more to do and see.
