Bright Converted Bus with Woodstove & Ocean View on the Sunshine Coast, British Columbia

Caravan in Halfmoon Bay, British Columbia
3 guests • 1 bedroom • 2 beds • 1 bathroom
Our cozy, glamping school bus with a spectacular ocean view offers a unique, comfortable accommodation all year round (except in freezing temperatures). How often do you get the opportunity to stay in a beautifully converted school bus with an ocean view?
The schoolie features a wood stove, bamboo flooring, a very comfortable queen-sized mattress along with all the essentials, including 2 convection hot plates, a toaster oven, Magic Bullet, and a small fridge with a freezer.
A moveable desk and a comfy loveseat facing the ocean view, provide a great work space with a good internet connection via Starlink. There is room for a young child to sleep on the loveseat. Note: ceiling height is 5’10”.
The electric oil-filled heater is great for colder weather. The queen-size bed has lots of storage space underneath it. The kitchen is fully equipped. The setting is stunning with an ocean view. It's in a private setting near our fabulous moss-covered magic energy rock. It even has a sit-down shower with a private window and an odourless, low maintenance, 'Nature’s Head' composting toilet with a forest view.
NOTE: Guests staying less than a week are required to bring their own QUEEN-SIZE sheets, and pillowcases. We provide the pillows and duvet as well as towels and dishwashing cloths and drying towels. Please bring your own bedding for a child if they will be sleeping on the couch.
Guests can explore our property, including our orchard area, ponds, Loop Trail through the woods, our organic gardens, and even our hens and rabbits.
NOTE: Our dogs roam freely around our house. If you want to see our ocean view and visit our hens and rabbits, it’s best to leave your dog in your listing or car as we’re not always around to supervise them.
We are always up for meeting our guests, but if you prefer privacy and limited contact that is also fine with us. The bus is located in an area where the dogs don't go, but if you want to interact with them, you just need to come down the hill a few meters.
We live in a gorgeous semi-rural area halfway between Sechelt and Madeira Park, both of which are only 20 minutes away by car. We are up on a mountain with wonderful views of the ocean, islands, and Vancouver Island.
In addition to this listing, we have a luxury tent trailer nestled in the woods, a glamping wall tent, with a large, private deck, an RV with a large private deck and an ocean view, a semi off-grid micro cabin in the woods and several furnished campsites, all on decks with picnic tables.
We are walking distance to trailheads, including Homesite Creek, with beautiful waterfalls.
There is public transportation over to the Sunshine Coast via BC ferries and an express bus that runs from the ferry in Langdale to Sechelt. You need a vehicle, motorcycle, e-bike or a bicycle to access our listings as convenient public transportation is not available beyond Sechelt. For those without a vehicle, check out Coastal Rides, a ride-share service available on the Sunshine Coast.
This is for NON-smokers ONLY. We both have strong allergies to smoke.
While we welcome well-behaved pets, we only accept ONE pet at a time and we do NOT accept intact male dogs. If you’re coming with a small child, there won't be enough space for a dog as well.
Please note that you will be responsible for any costs incurred to fix any damage caused by your pet. Dogs must be on a leash and with you at all times and you must clean up after them. We don't allow pets on the couch or bed, unless they are in a pet bed. Dogs must be dry to sleep on the bamboo floors.
For guests staying a week or longer, sheets, pillowcases and laundry facilities are available.
NOTE: ceiling height is about 5’10”.
PETS: We allow one well-behaved pet per stay, with an additional $40.00 fee. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times.
