This peaceful retreat is tucked away in the tiny village of McBride, British Columbia. Surrounded by the breathtaking Rocky and Cariboo Mountains, this Robson Valley property looks on to lush forest greenery in summer and amazing snow-capped peaks throughout the fall, winter, and spring months. The site is located at the base of Lucille Mountain, two hours from Prince George, and just 45 minutes from the mesmerizing Mount Robson. The historic Ancient Forest, also known as Chun T’oh Wudujut Provincial Park, is only an hour’s drive from the property while Bell Mountain, Mount Teare, and McBride Peak are within easy reach.

The scenic Koeneman Park is under two miles away while the beautiful Horseshoe Lake, perfect for birdwatching, is only 10 minutes’ drive from the retreat. Holiday Creek Arch, Rearguard Falls, and Lower Raush Protected Parks can be reached in under an hour. Prince George is the closest international airport at 132-miles away while McBride has its own small private airstrip close by.

The summer months are perfect for hiking in the woodlands of the stunning Ancient Forest or on one of the many trails within close reach of the property. Mountaineers can enjoy climbing on the many towering peaks above McBride. Wildlife enthusiasts will love the wide range of birds that can be spotted at Horseshow Lake. Bears, wolves, cougars, wolverines, and coyotes can also be seen in the area. Families can grab a picnic and head to the gorgeous Koeneman Regional Park, on the edge of town. There is a ball field, an ice rink, and sports courts at the Recreation Centre to keep kids entertained.

Thrill-seekers can enjoy paragliding from 4000-feet on Teare Mountain, while those looking for a more relaxed option will revel in the nine-hole King Creek Golf Course. During the winter guests can snowmobile or snowshoe on the many nearby trails. Mount Lucile, Bell Mountain, and McBride Peak offer incredible skiing and snowboarding experiences. Further afield, Grizzly Den Provincial Park and Goat River Provincial Park are ideal for backcountry skiing. McBride also hosts a range of year-round activities.

There is an outdoor exhibit of antique farming equipment as well as various other artifacts on show at the McBride and District Public Library building. Arts and crafts fans can pick up quality bargains at the Whistle Stop Gallery. The McBride Bears, a family of carved wooden bears, offers the perfect photograph opportunity outside the Village Office complex. Locally-inspired food, as well as Italian, Greek, and Chinese cuisines can all be found within walking distance of the site.
