About this place

This site offers a refurbished vintage 1965 Boeing 727 airframe, which in its prior life shuttled globetrotters on South Africa Air and Avianca Airlines (Colombia). This fully outfitted, meticulously detailed, two bedroom, Boeing 727 fuselage suite jets out from the jungle canopy, affording you views that will make you feel like you’re flying.

The site salvaged this airframe from its San Jose airport resting place. They carefully transported the pieces on five, big-rig trucks to the jungles of Manuel Antonio where they have been resurrected into a unique jumbo hotel suite. The classic airplane, nestled on the edge of the National Park, is perched on a 50-foot pedestal. At this height, you will enjoy scenic ocean and jungle views from the hard wood deck built atop the plane's former right wing. The plane's interior is Costa Rican teak paneling from the cockpit to the tail.

Furnishings are hand-carved, teak furniture from Java, Indonesia. The 727 home features two air conditioned bedrooms--one with two queen sized beds and the other with one queen sized bed, each with its own private bath—a flat screen TV, a kitchenette, a dining area foyer; an ocean view terrace, a private entrance up a river rock, a spiral staircase, and 360 degrees of surrounding gardens. Guests can enjoy an evening on the terrace while sipping a glass of wine and observing their tree top neighbors: sloths, toucans, monkeys and more.

Facilities include air conditioning, electricity, hairdryers, internet and Wi-Fi access, a laundry service, a safe, bathrooms with showers sinks and toilets, towels and linens included, onsite parking, a telephone, wheelchair access, a TV and a TV room.

Catamaran Dolphin Watching: The choice of two dolphin and sunset cat cruises. Starting at the Quepos marina, only ten minutes from Costa Verde.

Surf Lessons: Try some surf or boogie board lessons at Manuel Antonio beach, a short walk from the accommodation.

Sport Fishing: Quepos is world famous for off-shore bill fishing with many record sail fish, marlin, snapper and tuna caught in local waters. Enjoy a full-day or half-day fishing in-shore or off-shore. There are many different sized sport fishing boats: from 26 foot outboards to 45 foot twin diesels.

Canopy Zip Line Tours: Gliding from platform to platform, secured by a harness, enjoy flying through the local jungle canopies. In the Manuel Antonio area they have five very different zip line tours to choose from.

Waterfall Rappelling: One fall is 150 feet and another is 175 feet high. Enjoy a typical Costa Rican lunch overlooking the swinging bridge and canyon waterfall. The canyoning tour is for anyone in moderate physical condition. Kid friendly, no experience necessary. Guides are safety conscience and professionally trained to help combat any fears.

White Water Rafting: A full day of fun, great scenery and birding. Challenge nearby, pristine Savegre River with a experienced rafting company. The half-day tour is on the Naranjo River, through adjacent ranches and palm oil plantation.

Sunset Sail: Why not have an adventure aboard this comfortable, single hull yacht that begins sailing along the scenic coast past the beautiful beaches and islands of Manuel Antonio National Park. As the boat glides quietly along guests may see dolphins, which frequently swim in the boat's wake, and even the occasional whale or giant sea turtle.

Sea Kayaking: Kayak the protected mangrove waterways of the Isla Damas Estuary with a guide to show guests all the wildlife... or challenge yourself to a more rugged workout on the coastline between Quepos and Manuel Antonio, with some waves and surf.

Manuel Antonio National Park Guided Tour: Explore Manuel Antonio National Park with an experienced guide in search of sloths, monkeys and exotic birds. The guide will explain the history of the park and its flora and fauna.

Damas Estuary Launch: The local mangrove swamp is a great place to see whitefaced monkeys, silky anteaters and huge crocodiles. Visit this unique ecosystem in the comfort of a shaded boat and an entertaining guide.
