This bed and breakfast lodge is located in Ocean View, Hawaii, near the southern tip of Big Island. The grounds of the lodge present guests with a park-like setting full of ohia trees and three large pukas. From the site, guests will be well-positioned to enjoy the natural splendor of the island, with Manuka State Wayside Park to the west and Kau Forest Reserve to the north. The former features an arboretum full of native plants and a two-mile loop trail, while the latter encompasses 61,000 acres of forested land that is home to an abundance of wildlife, including the endangered Hawaii creeper and Hawaii Akepa.

About two miles away, guests will find Kula Kai Caverns, a braided lava tube system. Other attractions in the region include Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, which is about 45 minutes away. Nearby beaches include Green Sand Beach, Punalu'u Black Sand Beach, Miloli'i Beach Park, Ho'okena Beach, and South Point Tide Pool. For dining, guests will find a variety of restaurants within a few blocks of the lodge, such as Ocean View Pizza, Mehe Bar and Grill, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue and a Thai restaurant. The lodge is about an hour and 10 minutes from Kona, where the nearest international airport is located.

Guests can go walking on a two-mile loop trail and see an arboretum of native trees at Manuka State Wayside Park. Guests will find many more hiking and biking trails at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. For snorkeling and scuba diving, guests can head to Two Steps, which is next to another attraction guests can visit: Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau National Historical Park. Guests can also go snorkeling at Ho'okena Beach, where there is kayaking as well.

At Punalu’u Black Sand Beach, guests can see sea turtles and they can see Hawaiian monk seals, spinner dolphins, and whales at Honomalino Bay. while at Green Sand Beach, guests can do exactly what the name would lead them to expect: see sand that is actually green, thanks to the olivine crystals it contains.
