Southern California is infamous for its beaches and laid-back lifestyle, but as travelers make their way inland from the Pacific shores they will find a breathtaking region with infinite mountains, scattered forests, and rolling rivers. The mild climate is great for glampers looking for adventure all year round, and without a doubt, they will find what they are looking for in Julian.
A perfect destination for those looking to be connected nature, Julian and the surrounding region is home to amazing trails parks, and national forests. Areas such as Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, Cleveland National Forest, and Palomar Mountain are excellent outdoor destinations within a short drive from the property and are perfect for an adventurous day trip. With trails and access to hiking, trekking, mountain biking, horseback riding, mountain climbing, and rappelling, as well as wildlife watching and practicing photography, these locations will not disappoint. Nearby lakes and rivers are great places to cool off and go swimming, kayaking, canoeing, boating, and multiple types of fishing.
As the weather gets colder and snow falls, mountainsides collect snow and ski resorts open their doors for downhill skiers and snowboarders, while flatter terrain is more popular for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, exploring on snowmobiles, and ice skating.
If glampers choose to have a break from the outdoors, they can head into the local town of Julian or venture a bit further to Temecula or San Diego and explore the best of what the cities have to offer. Visitors can take a city tour, go shopping, or sample the local gastronomy in the various restaurants and bars. The area of Julian is also home to wineries where guests can spend an educational afternoon experiencing some of the best wine in the country.
