Magical Family Tree House in Secluded Woodland near Germantown, Kentucky
This fantastic family tree house was built by Pete Nelson in December 2014 and shown on Animal Planet. It is located just a stone's throw away from Germantown, Kentucky, and can accommodate 4 guests comfortably. There is a king-size bed in loft of the tree house and a pull-out cot in the main living space. This tree house is best for two adults and two children or, three children if they are small. Outside, glampers will find a hammock, a fire pit, and a compost toilet within 5 second walk. A real private (for you only) bathroom with shower, flushing toilet and sink is 3 minute walk
In the living space, guests will find a wood-burning stove that will keep the space toasty and warm in the cooler months. You also have a space heater. Glampers will find all they need for basic meals in the kitchenette, including a coffee pot, a kettle, mini fridge and a 4 burner stove. The best feature of this tree house is the barn doors that bring the inside in. Imagine starting the morning enjoying breakfast or a cup of coffee in front of a crackling fire, next to a wood-burning stove, in the middle of the woods, all while in a treehouse! Guests can head outside to hike the rolling hills, check out the views and solitude of old growth trees, and the surrounding nature.
Outside, there is a large deck with terrace furniture and a barbecue for more outdoor cooking. Glampers will adore stunning views from their treetop vantage point, as well as the sounds and smells of nature that surrounds them. The fire-pit is strategically placed to view from the huge deck with comfortable seating to roast marsh mellows.
Private access to 200 acres of themed trails is included in the stay. The heart trail is 3.2 miles and takes guests to different areas of the property to explore, like the cabana pod that sits by a stream, an 1800s abandoned log cabin, the three-person net trillium, and picnic area. The newest trail is Jacob's Ladders, named after the hosts' nephew. Visitors are encouraged to bring or make their own memory of a loved one to hang in the trees along the trail. The hobbit trail is fun for the kids and they love finding the 10 hobbit houses. The property is also known for two 150 feet long tunnel slides.
Guests can also sign up for a unique guided tree climb. It is $59 a person for 90 min class. Many previous guests have enjoyed watching the hosts show 'The Kentucky Climbers Cottage' prior to visiting the treehouse.
Glampers will be in for an adventure at this tree house accommodation. There is electricity, and guests will find the rental has many lights, air, a small heater, and a coffeemaker. There is still cell phone reception, but there is no running water to the tree house. There is a three-gallon tank of water for guests to use inside kitchenette and fill up unlimited next to your private bathroom
Bed linens are provided for the main beds, and underneath the pull-out sofa, there is an optional foam mattress to make the sofa extra comfy.

The treehouses are strategically placed to ensure guests have privacy, but are close enough if guests decide to to book them for family gathering. In the summer with full foliage the other treehouses can't be seen. The hosts take pride in details to make all guests' trip memorable! From specific local favorites, to providing maps of the farm, to offering one of a kind guided tree climbs. The tree houses are unique in that they are tucked in the woods, with each tree house boasting a different theme.
The Heart Trail takes guests around the property and is 3.3 miles, leading them to a large, Trillium, three-person hammock, where they can enjoy lunch. The newest trail, the Hobbit Tree House Trail, will leave guests immersed in finding the 10 hobbit houses, sometimes with hidden gems inside. Guests can make their way to the end of the trail to make a wish in the creek located by the oldest tree on the property.
The five tree grove is available to guests to book a guided tree climb. Here, the property's professional facilitator will take guests to the top for the best views. They can learn all the tree tricks, including coming down upside down, or just hang out in the giant green net. Guests can also book a guided meditative hike that will connect them deeper to themselves, others, and nature.
A fire pit is strategically placed to view from the deck or comfortable seating to roast marshmallows. Kids can go on a scavenger hunt to find the five ponds, explore an abandoned 1800s settlers log cabin, and wade and play in several cool creeks.

Glampers should arrive with hiking shoes and comfortable outdoor-appropriate clothing. Board games are a great thing to bring along to play around the fire in the evening times. There is a full kitchenette so guests should bring their own food, specifically for grilling on the outdoor barbecue. Wipes, paper towels, and garbage bags are included.
Guests should note that this property is best for those who love wildlife and do not mind critters. The tree house is in the middle of the woods, and guests may encounter mice, wasps, bees, ticks, deer, turkeys, flies, ants, and water bugs, as well as hear coyotes and owls, especially out on the trails.
Safety considerations of this tree house. The steps to the second floor are a ship ladder. The hosts recommend guests are in good health and physical condition. The property welcomes children.

This property boasts three tree houses, strategically placed, to give guests privacy but, that is close enough, that they can rent out all three.
What makes the Aliyah unique is that the snuggle palace is 30 feet high and is the tallest tree house. It’s great for families that like to spread out. In the main cabin there is a full-size bed and across the swinging bridge is a bunk bed with a twin and a full-size bed.
The hickory is unique in that it has a playground, consisting of a slide, a swing, and two hammocks. It has a cozy nook with lots of games. This treehouse is best for two adults and four kids that want to be in the same room at bedtime.
The Pete is unique and has a wood-burning stove. It has the biggest floor plan with lots of open space with an oversized loft with a king-size bed. Best suited for Pete Nelson tree house lovers and a couple with two small kids.
