Glimer

Glimer, Texas is best known for the annual East Texas Yamboree, a celebration of yams as a cash crop which draws thousands of nearby tourists. It’s part of a larger area known as Piney Woods and you’ll be able to see many impressive trees in the area. Sadly, the Trail of Tears passed through this region, so today many Indian arrowheads and artifacts can be found. The weather here is humid subtropical with extremely hot summer temperatures, so finding a body of water is a good idea. Lake Glimer lies to the northwest, so head there for swimming, boating, fishing, paddleboarding, and more. Lake O’ the Pines is to the east, another great place to relax on the shoreline or cool off in the water. Daingerfield State Park has trails winding through lush forests. Head to Glimer, Texas for your next glamping excursion.
