Exclusive Eco Hillside Retreat with Luxury Yurts & Hilltop Caravan in Penne d'Agenais, France
Yurt in Penne d'Agenais, Southern France
8 guests • 3 bedrooms • 5 beds • 1 bathroom
Available for exclusive hire, this unique hillside retreat offers complete privacy across a beautifully crafted eco-site sleeping 6–8 guests. Set within protected woodland in rural southwest France, between two award-winning medieval villages, the space is designed for those who value nature, craftsmanship, comfort, and a slower way of living.
The site comprises two luxury yurts and a beautiful hilltop caravan, each thoughtfully positioned to offer sweeping valley views, birdsong mornings, and golden sunrise mornings. When booked as a whole, guests enjoy sole use of all facilities, with no shared spaces and no interruptions - just land, sky, and space to breathe.
The Setting
Perched high on a hillside within a protected forest zone (Natura 2000), the retreat feels both secluded and expansive. Ancient woodland rises behind the site, accessible directly for daily walks, quiet wandering, and nature connection. In front, the land opens out across rolling valleys toward the medieval bastide village of Penne-d’Agenais, with uninterrupted views and open skies.
The site is ideally located for exploration. You are betwixt two of France’s most beautiful Beaux Villages, with local markets, historic streets, artisan producers, and excellent gastronomy just a short drive away. The celebrated wine regions of Bordeaux, Cahors, and Bergerac are all within easy reach.
The Accommodation
Two Luxury Yurts
Handcrafted by Avalon Yurts - renowned for their work at high-end festivals and VIP glamping events - the yurts are warm, spacious, and quietly magical. Each features wooden floors, electricity, water access, ambient lighting, and beautifully considered interiors with handcrafted furniture, ornate rugs, and soft bohemian details.
Stable doors open onto private circular decking and gardens with hammocks, while large windows frame valley views. A central roof window allows for unforgettable stargazing nights from the comfort of bed. Extra single beds can be added on request, allowing flexible sleeping arrangements for groups.
The Hilltop Caravan
The caravan offers a cosy, self-contained retreat with its own private terrace and garden. Inside, you’ll find a compact but well-equipped kitchen, comfortable seating that converts into a double bed, heating, and a hot shower. Positioned to take full advantage of the views, it’s an ideal hideaway within the wider site.
All bedding and towels are provided, and the layout of the accommodation allows groups to gather together while still enjoying personal space and privacy.
