If you are driving from Hamilton in the north or Taupo in the south it is just over an hour 1 and only 2.5 hrs from Auckland.
The walk here is approximately 420m and takes you over the gently rolling hills of this lush and verdant farmland for around 5-10 minutes.
Remember a small backpack is the best choice and makes for an easier walk too.

If you are able to tear yourself away from the luxurious comforts of the tiny house, there’s so much to enjoy in Rotorua.
If you are staying for a couple of days, set aside some time to explore the wonderful activities on offer, such as strolling the Redwood forests, soaking in the geothermal pools or experience one of the many adrenaline activities.
The PurePod has all the facilities you require including a fabulous shower, flush toilet, crisp linen, cooking and eating equipment including a gas hob and barbeque, tea coffee and milk; as well as an assortment of games, local reference books, and a telescope.
So sit back, relax in the luxury camp chairs out on the deck, or laze in the super comfortable bed and watch nature put on a show.
You can either bring your own supplies or pre-order a delicious breakfast and dinner food hamper when you make your reservation.
Check-in is from 3pm (but please make sure you arrive in plenty of time to walk to the PurePod before dark). Check-out is by 12 pm on the day of departure.
