An hour from Havelock is the town of Picton which also is home to the Cook Strait ferry terminal. The ferry connects Picton to Wellington and has a scenic three to four-hour passage several times daily.

The property is remote with no road access and can be reached only by boat, floatplane, or helicopter. Transportation to and from the accommodation by mail boat or water taxi is available and included for guests. Although remote, there is excellent cell phone service and Wi-Fi is provided to ensure guests can stay in touch with loved ones during their stay.
