This classic gypsy caravan rental is located at Curio Bay, Catlins, South Island, and can accommodate two guests. Inside the recently renovated caravan, guests are treated to a plush super king-size bed with a $3,000 mattress, surrounded by windows on three sides. The room also has a TV and a dresser. There is an outdoor bathroom with a toilet and a shower, located nine meters from the caravan. Bed linens, a soft duvet cover, and bath towels are provided.

Centrally located between the bed and the entrance, there is a comfortable sofa that faces a wood-burning stove. The fully-equipped kitchenette comes with a double hotplate electric cooker, a microwave, a mini-fridge, a toaster, and a kettle for hot tea and coffee. Also neatly contained, there is all the necessary cookware, including pots and pans, dishes, and utensils. For convenience, the caravan keeps a supply of tea, coffee, sugar, and cooking oil provided for guest use. Other amenities include free Wi-Fi access, an extra sleeping cot, and electric heating as well as firewood supplied for the wood-burning stove.

Stepping outside of the caravan's Dutch door entrance, guests will find a covered awning and a patio, all looking out over the property's grass lawn. Taking a trip to the Slope Point area, the southernmost tip of the South Island, there are plenty of activities to keep guests entertained for several days. The gorgeous Curio Bay and beaches allow visitors to sunbathe, swim, surf, and paddleboard. Nature enthusiasts will love watching Yellow Eyed Penguins come onto the Curio Bay fossil forest during the last daylight hours of the evening. During the summer months, playful dolphins join in with surfing students and dive into the waves. Just north of the property is the Catlins Conservation Park, where visitors can hike the Catlins River-Wisp Loop Track, and the McLean Falls Walk. Open seasonally, the Lost Gypsy Curios and Coffee Gallery is a hidden treasure, and "the world's largest collection of rustic automata" by an "organic mechanic and tinkerer". Located in Papatowai, Catlins, it is an absolute must-see museum. Making the trip in this direction, guests should stop by Florence Hill Lookout.
