Santa Teresa District

One of ten districts that make La Concencion Province in the Cusco region of Peru, Santa Teresa is where you’ll find the mysterious city of Machu Picchu. Despite being home to such a touristic destination, Santa Teresa is seldom stimulated by tourism, making it a great location to visit if you’re into immersing yourself in foreign regions without the drawbacks of tourism. There are a number of interesting attractions in the district, including Huayna Picchu, a mountain range that rises over Machu Picchu. You can hike along a breathtaking trail there, but it can be challenging for those afraid of heights. There is also the Temple of the Moon. The Incan temple ruin offers visitors a glimpse that the ancient civilization that mysteriously disappeared.
