Based in the glorious countryside of Somerset in the southwest of England, this 17th-century old stables house is located near the town of Castle Cary not far from near Glastonbury next to a working farm of cattle. It provides guests with a secluded and serene location for a unique glamping getaway. The stables were converted in 2002 and every effort was made to preserve the original structure of exposed wooden beams while the holiday rental is well-equipped with modern amenities.

The stables can sleep up to seven guests with a spacious master bedroom on the ground floor that showcases a gorgeous, king-size four-poster bed complete with cozy linens while the upstairs comes with a double bedroom and a third bedroom with three single beds. Guests can hang out in the living area after a day of activities on soft seating as the chef on cooking duty prepares a home-cooked meal in the fully-equipped kitchen that includes an oven, a stove, a toaster, and a refrigerator. Mealtimes can be enjoyed at the dining table for eight or outside on the patio when the summer sun is out. There is a bathroom on the upper floor where guests will find a shower, a toilet, and a hand basin.

The holiday rental is perfect for those who yearn for adventure and want to experience something different than the typical getaways.

Although the property has a historic appearance, it is well-equipped and guests are bound to enjoy a comfortable and relaxing getaway here. There is a washing machine should guests wish to do laundry during their stay and the property comes with free access to Wi-Fi. Outside, guests can admire the countryside views from the patio that comes complete with seating and guests are free to use the on-site parking facilities.

Somerset County is the ideal glamping location with its sublime natural beauty and historic attractions making for a magical escape to the southwest of England. Guests can explore the town of Castle Cary and visit the 19th-century Market House and 18th century Round House lockup or head out to nearby Cadbury Castle, an Iron Age hill fort, that has been linked to the legendary court of King Arthur’s Camelot.

The famous town of Glastonbury is only a half-hour drive from Castle Cary where guests can admire the views from Glastonbury Tor and Cheddar Gorge, while the breathtaking site of ancient caves where Britain’s oldest complete human skeleton was found, is a 45-minute drive away. The limestone caverns of Wookey Hole make for a wonderful day of discovery with the whole family.
The property is on a 600-year-old threshing barn - part of a medieval settlement and the owner's house nearby has timbers and wall paintings from medieval times which they are happy to show guests by arrangement.
