This glamping site is located in the rural village of Felindre in the Powys county of Wales, where it is situated on an 30 acre smallholding that was formerly a 150-acre hill farm. Here, guests will be surrounded by lush rolling farmland as far as the eye can see, interspersed with copses of mature trees full of abundant wildlife, such as badgers, buzzards, foxes, Welsh ponies, and woodpeckers. At the site, guests will find verdant paddocks and a well-established garden, along with free-range chickens, Welsh black mountain sheep, a herd of five horses, two dogs, and two cats who call the site home.
In the immediate area surrounding the site, guests will find a variety of cycling routes and walking paths, such as the five-mile Beguildy Community Trail, the 12-mile Glyndwr's Way circular walk, and the various routes to be explored at Beacon Hill Crown Estate. The latter is a 5,000-acre nature reserve, where guests can enjoy a wide-open landscape covered in heather and filled with wildlife and birds, such as meadow pipits, stonechats, and whinchats. Here, guests will also find excellent tracks for horseback riding, with two bridle paths leading right from the site to the estate.
Slightly farther afield, yet only nine miles away in Knighton, guests will also find the intersection of two national trails: Offa's Dyke Path and Glyndwr's Way. A variety of mountain biking centers, trails, and tracks can be reached within an hour and a half from the site, including those at Nant yr Arian, Coed y Brenin, Hopton, Bringewood, Bucknell, Coed LLandegla, and Revolution Bike Park.
Home-cooked meals are available right at the site, but for restaurants and pubs, guests will have many options in the surrounding villages of Knighton, Leintwardine, Titley, Aymestry, and Old Radnor. The Radnorshire Arms is the nearest restaurant, located only two miles down the road. Golfers can head to the Knighton Golf Course, the Newtown Golf Course, or the Llandrindod Wells Golf Course. Those who want to learn about the history of the area will find a variety of museums in Newtown, such as the Robert Owen Museum, the Textile Museum, the WH Smith Museum, and the Oriel Davis Gallery. The region is also home to many gardens and historic buildings, such as Whimble Gardens, Bryans Ground, Hergest Croft Gardens, Gregnynog Hall Gardens, Glansevern Hall, Abbey-Cwm-Hir, and Powis Castle.
The site is about two hours from Birmingham, where the nearest international airport is located.
