Blanchard, Pennsylvania is located in the Keystone State’s Center County, close to Harrisburg, and in the vicinity of no less than six state parks, including Bald Eagle State Park. Named after an 18th century Lenape Chief, though the iconic raptor does indeed nest here, the park offers glampers hiking trails through beautiful, wooded landscapes. There are also opportunities for boating, fishing and swimming on the scenic Foster Joseph Sayers Reservoir that lies in the shadow of the eponymous Bald Eagle Mountain. If the outdoors appeal of this spectacular region, located where the Allegany Plateau meets the Ridge and Valley section of Appalachia with correspondingly varied wildlife, were not enough on its own, glampers can also visit nearby towns such as friendly and historic Lock Haven with its beautiful 19th and 20th century architecture, shops, and eateries.
