This region is renowned for the variety of outdoor experiences on offer. On the Youghiogheny River adjacent to the property, guests can take part in rafting and kayaking. There are plenty of local outfitters where equipment can be rented. One mile up the river from the property is Youghiogheny Lake, a 15-mile long body of water, where glampers can enjoy boating. Hundreds of miles of bike riding are available just across the river. The Allegheny Passage has trails that are suitable for all ages and abilities. The same can be said for hiking and horseback riding trails, with the Ohiopyle State Park next to the property offering woodland trails.

The area is also popular for rock climbing, as Seneca Rocks and Nemacolin Woodlands are both nearby, and guests can go caving in the Laurel Caverns, just a half hour away. Keen fishermen will love the world-class lakes and streams in the region, and the section of the river just behind the property is a particularly great spot. Winter sports, like skiing, snowboarding, and sledding are close at hand, as there are four ski resorts within an hour of the chalet: Seven Springs, Hidden Valley, Wisp, and Laurel Ridge.

Nature lovers will be able to enjoy the variety of plants and animals on display in the Ohiopyle State Park, and the park is a great place for a quiet walk, hike, or a picnic. The friendly charm of Confluence will appeal to those who enjoy retail therapy, as the town boasts some fantastic local shops, including the Confluence Antique Mall, where guests can pick up a unique souvenir.
