Overlooking the Cowpasture River, this bucolic cabin rental is located in Clifton Forge, Virginia, and is ideal for those planning a family-friendly getaway with loved ones. With four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a powder room, this mountainside retreat can accommodate up to 16 guests.
The master bedroom features a luxurious queen-size bed, a twin-size bed, and a lovely seating area with a comfortable couch where glampers can curl up with a good book. This bedroom also features an ensuite bathroom with a relaxing soaking tub, a shower, a sink, and a toilet. The second bedroom has one queen-size bed, while the third bedroom features two full-size beds. The fourth bedroom has two queen-size beds. These three bedrooms share a bathroom with a combination shower/bathtub, a sink, and a toilet. All linens and towels are provided.
With two plush sofas, an armchair, and a TV, the living room is the perfect place to kick back and relax after a fun-filled day exploring Douthat State Park. There is also a fireplace great for staying warm. When glampers get hungry they can make their way to the fully-equipped kitchen where they will find everything they need to whip up their favorite recipes, including a range cooker, a microwave, a toaster, and a refrigerator. There is also a dishwasher for easy cleanup. Guests can enjoy their culinary creations at the breakfast bar with seating for two, the kitchen table with seating for four, or the formal dining table with seating for eight. Other amenities include central heating, air conditioning, a laundry room, and Wi-Fi throughout.
Outside, glampers will find a lovely front porch with a porch swing where glampers can leaf through a magazine or admire a gorgeous sunset as they sip on sweet tea. Nature enthusiasts can venture to Blue Suck Falls in Douthat State Park where they will be able to hike and bike the countless trails as they make their way through the rugged terrain. Keen fishermen can cast their lines in Douthat Lake where they can try to reel in trout while water sports lovers can head to Cowpasture River where they will be able to spend their time kayaking and canoeing. Guests can also venture to Alleghany Highlands Arts and Crafts Center where they will be able to walk through the various exhibits before heading to the heart of town to grab a bite to eat at one of the local eateries. In the winter, guests can ski and snowboard down the powdery slopes at the Omni Homestead Resort or Snowshoe Mountain resort.
