This getaway cabin is located in a wooded, 50-acre outdoor resort near Harrisonburg, Virginia, and can provide up to four guests with more than just an accommodation; in addition to the comfortable, well-appointed cabin itself, guests will also enjoy convenient access to more than 200,000 acres of unspoiled nature at Shenandoah National Park, a variety of optional adventure packages to choose from, and a wide range of facilities to enjoy at the resort. For guests seeking relaxation, entertainment, and recreation in the great outdoors, the cabin is thus both a springboard and a destination onto itself.
Inside the cabin, guests will find one studio room that combines a bedroom, a kitchenette, a living area, and a dining area into one multi-functional space, along with a bathroom. The studio room is furnished with a full-size futon bed, a bunk bed set consisting of two twin beds, a television, and a four-person table, where guests can enjoy snacks and drinks, supplies for which can be purchased at the camp resort's store and then stored and prepared with the kitchenette's microwave, mini-refrigerator, coffeemaker, pots, pans, and sink. Outside, guests will find a covered porch, a picnic table, and a fire ring. Location + Surroundings
Set on a wooded, 50-acre camping resort at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this cabin is located in Greenwood, Virginia, just 20 minutes away from Charlottesville. Around the resort, there are nature trails, meadows, hills, a fishing pond, and a clear creek awaiting guests' exploration and enjoyment. To the northwest, they will find Shenandoah National Park, where more than 500 miles of trails and the scenic Skyline Drive wind through 200,000 acres of parkland full of wooded hillsides and valleys, rock overhangs, mountain streams, 300 square miles of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and verdant forests full of 805 species of wildflowers and 331 species of shrubs, vines, and trees, including chestnut oaks, tulip poplars, cove hardwoods, and spruce firs.
While exploring the park, guests may spot some of the 190 species of birds that live or seasonally visit the park; Carolina chickadees, wild turkeys, barred owls, red-tailed hawks, and tufted titmice are among the year-round residents. There are also more than 50 species of mammals that call the park home, including white-tailed deer, gray squirrels, black bears, spotted skunks, and big brown bats.
While the area is a haven for outdoor recreation and appreciation of nature, it has many other attractions as well. There are seven breweries and more than 20 wineries and vineyards within a 15-mile radius of the resort.
