Idyllic places to stay in VA: getaways in nature

This fantastic Virginia vacation rental is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. The VA retreat has three bedrooms with two twin beds and one bedroom with a queen bed. There is a covered porch and the entire accommodation is climate controlled. There is also high-speed internet access for guests' convenience

The rental serves as the camp's healthcare facility during the summer months and so this accommodation does not include a kitchen, however, there is a refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee maker, and a double plate countertop electric burner. Guests can also bring a grill to cook meals.

There are many restaurants glampers can visit or order take-out from and although there is no real dining area, there is a large desk with some folding chairs that guests can use to eat meals.

During their stay in Virginia, glampers will have access to the scenic Cowpasture River frontage which is great for swimming, canoeing, or tubing, and they may also enjoy hiking, basketball, tennis, and volleyball on-site.

If guests plan on taking a canoe out on the river, the hosts ask that they wear a PFD at all times and to canoe upstream and float back down and get out at the beach area. There is nowhere to pull out as you go downstream as it leads to private property.

Guests should place the canoe back on the rack when they are done. The hosts do have PFD’s that will fit a teenager, however, guests may want to bring their own to make sure they have one that fits correctly for an adult or small child. The river is within a short walk.

The hosts ask people not to park in the grass or down at the river.

Be kind to the environment and take care of the surroundings.
