This two-bedroom log cabin sits hidden along the water in a cove of Virginia's Chesapeake Bay. After an afternoon fishing off the dock or kayaking in the bay, the living room is the perfect place to retire to. With expansive windows letting in lots of natural light, it's a bright and spacious room furnished with a couch and a futon, centered around the TV. If guests don't feel like eating out, they will find that the kitchen has all the appliances and room they might need to prepare and enjoy a meal in the log cabin. There are two private bedrooms, with three full-size beds, and these along with the futon means the log cabin can sleep six people comfortably, and perhaps seven if there are children in the reservation.
This property has central heat and air conditioning, and all towels and linens are provided for guests. Guests will have a gas grill, a washing machine, and dryer, a dishwasher, and an air conditioning. There is also a television, a DVD and VCR player, a modest movie collection and a bookshelf stereo. Winter Harbor is a shallow cove off of the Chesapeake Bay very close to the old Wolf Trap Lighthouse. It is part of the County of Mathews "Blueways Water Trails" popular with kayakers and paddleboarders. It has a channel for about a half mile and then there is an average of two feet of water over a broad expanse for a half a mile or so to the cabin pier. Guests will be a 15-minute paddle to the Bay and several miles on a bike to Bethel Beach. Few power boats come into Winter Harbor, making it great for peace and quiet and bird watching.
