Built in 1925, this beach vacation rental is located near Mackinac Island, in Mackinaw City, Michigan, and can accommodate eight guests. There are three bedrooms and one full bathroom. The first bedroom features a double-size bed, a warm rug over hardwood floors, and a floor lamp for nighttime reading. Upstairs are two bedrooms. The cottage's second bedroom features one queen-size bed, one double-size bed, and a runner rug. Lastly, the third bedroom features one queen-size bed and a double-size bed, with a separate stand-in shower. The full bathroom features a sink and a shower, with a separate room for the toilet. Linens and towels are provided, as are toiletries such as soap and toilet paper.

With original wood finishes and historic furnishings throughout, this cottage takes guests back in time. In the cozy main living area, there is a seating area with a sofa and several armchairs, a wood-burning stone fireplace, wood walls with hanging gold-framed mirrors, and an adjustable pendant lamp. The fully-equipped kitchen comes with a stove top oven with four pilots, a refrigerator with freezer, and a microwave. There are also smaller appliances such as a coffeemaker, a toaster, and a blender, plus come pantry essentials. There is a vintage table for prepping, and all cookware, glassware, plates, and utensils. Other amenities include heating and paper towels.

Outside, there is a screened covered porch with a table and four chairs, a double seat swing, and hanging potted plants. A sandy pathway, which leads to the lake, has a barbecue and picnic table aside. There is also a sculptured artesian fountain made of stacked fieldstones.

Guests are treated to a variety of facilities including a bedroom alarm clock, a hairdryer, an iron, and ironing board. There is a tape player, a CD player, a DVD player, and games and books for entertainment. There are even binoculars and a telescope for viewing the stars on perfectly dark skies that the area is known for. There are additional beach chairs, beach towels, umbrellas, and golf clubs for use on the nearby golf course.

There is also a library card for borrowing books from the local Mackinaw city library, only a five-minute drive away. While the cottage does not have Wi-Fi access, cell phones are still able to make calls. If needed, the library also has free Wi-Fi and computers for guests to use, as well as some restaurants in the downtown area.

This lakefront cottage rental located near Mackinac Island in Mackinaw City, Michigan, is the first to be built on picturesque Cecil Bay. Nearby is a ferry dock that crosses Lake Huron to Mackinac Island, where there are woodland trails and limestone arch rock formations. There are no beaches on Mackinac Island, but there is west facing, private beach directly in front of this cottage. There is also the Wilderness State Park, the Headlands International Dark Sky Park and Preserve, and the French Farm Lake Wildlife Refuge located on the mainland. The Headlands International Dark Sky Park and Preserve offer some of the most spectacular views of stars and galaxies to be found in the entire country. Also in this 550-acre woodland park are bear, deer, eagles, and other wildlife, and several miles of undeveloped Lake Michigan beach. Guests can take a ferry ride across gorgeous Lake Huron to Mackinac Island State Park where there are several hiking trails and photo-ops of limestone arch rock formations.

For guests looking to shop, there are antique shops and outlet shopping centers. Anglers can enjoy pier fishing, fly fishing, freshwater fishing, and bay fishing. In addition, there is almost any kind of watersport activity available, with rentals including windsurfing, scuba diving, and sailing.
