The best getaways near Lake Michigan: vacations in nature

This gorgeous Michigan cabin rental is perfect for a nature retreat. Referred to by the original property owners as “The Sugar Shack,” the old sugar camp was constructed in 1937. Maple syrup was produced on the farm for many years and sap was harvested from the beautiful sugar maples.

This once dilapidated sugar camp has now been restored into a luxurious yet cozy cabin for two. The Michigan vacation rental is tucked into the wooded area next to the historic covered bridge with walls of windows offering stunning views of the ponds, bridge, and river.

The hosts provide everything guests will need for a comfortable stay in Michigan as there is a plush king bed, an ensuite bathroom with a shower, a living room with a wood-burning fireplace, cable TV, Wi-Fi, and a kitchenette with a stove, a sink, a mini-fridge, a microwave, a dishwasher, a coffee maker, an ice maker, and basic kitchenware.

The Michigan cabin is located in the woods and accessed by trails. A Polaris Gem (electric motorcar) is included in the rental. Guests can park at the hosts' property to check-in and pick up the Polaris. A waiver is required.
